NATIONAL SECURITY ASSOCIATION, INC. – TRAINING COURSES

The National Security Association provides Texas and Louisiana state approved mandatory Level 1 Alarm Training Course and Continuing Education Credits.

The training course consists of the teaching of basic skills in electronics, safety, ohms law, circuits, control panels, general programming criteria, sounders, keypads, motion detectors, light beams, fire alarm systems, basic design, testing, cctv, alarm monitoring, radio and cellular transmitters, communicating with public, dispute resolution and ethics.

The course is conducted over two eight-hour days. Students are encouraged to participate in discussion and ask questions. Although the course is basic for new installers, technicians, salespersons, and managers; it also provides an excellent refresher course for more experienced alarm personnel.

The course is split into six parts, so those students needing Continuing Education Credits (CEC) can participate in the parts of the course of their choice.

Requirement: All installers, technicians, alarm monitors, and salespersons must take Level 1 Training (16 hours)within one year of hire date. Continuing Education is required of installers, technicians, salespersons, and managers to obtain eight hours, including one hour of ethics, upon each two-year renewal.

Day One: 8 Hours
Communicating with Public; Ethics – 1 Hour
Basic Electronics – 6 Hours
False Alarm Prevention – 1 Hour

Day Two: 8 Hours
Dispute Resolution; Ethics – 1 Hour
Residential Fire Alarm Installation – 4 Hours
Alarm Monitoring & Communications – 1 Hour
Access Control & CCTV – 2 Hours
